Worldview

WorldView is equipped with state-of-the-art
geo-location accuracy capability, and will exhibit stunning agility with rapid targeting
and efficient in-track stereo collection. The satellite’s orbit of 450 kilometers
will enable it to revisit collection areas more frequently, allowing customers to
repeat their image acquisitions daily.
WorldView I is being built to satisfy requirements for the National Geospatial Intelligence
Agency’s (NGA’s) NextView contract, which was awarded to DigitalGlobe in September
2003, as well as to serve DigitalGlobe’s commercial and international customers.
WorldView I will free-up QuickBird to exclusively serve the global commercial marketplace.
WorldView II adds more capacity to meet the growing demand for high-resolution satellite
imagery.
Customers are already benefiting from the WorldView ground system, which was implemented
in January 2005 to support the processing and distribution of existing QuickBird
products. This system enables more effective and efficient imagery collection and
processing, thereby increasing product delivery timelines. Combined with the company’s
online ImageLibrary, the efficient WorldView system enables DigitalGlobe to keep
up with high levels of product demand.
